Where is the federal
filing field thin?

Election.org compares permanent 2026 federal seats with identity-complete FEC filing records. This can reveal research gaps. It cannot prove that a race is uncontested, that nobody is running, or that any filer qualified for the ballot.

Why this page does not say “uncontested”

FEC registration is a federal finance filing system. States and local authorities determine ballot access, and a person may appear on an official ballot without crossing the FEC registration threshold. These are filing-field signals, not official candidate lists.
