Method & privacy

Useful aggregation without a donor directory.

Five-person minimum

An employer/recipient cell is suppressed unless it contains at least 5 distinct reported contributors.

No individual identities

Election.org does not publish contributor names or addresses from this dataset. Internal temporary hashes enforce the threshold and are not shipped.

Amendment-aware

30,857,891 superseded versions were removed using stable committee, report, and transaction identifiers.

Conservative names

Employer spellings are normalized for punctuation and a small explicit alias list. Election.org does not guess corporate family trees or employment relationships.

The FEC individual-contribution file is a subset of itemized contributions, generally triggered once cycle-to-date or calendar-year-to-date giving exceeds $200. Memo entries remain included under the FEC bulk-file instructions. Net totals may include signed corrections, refunds, and reattributions.
